Album Notes

Scott Ezell is a writer, musician, and visual artist. He lived many years in Asia, where he absorbed traditional music styles and became fluent in Chinese. "Ocean Hieroglyphics" was recorded in a mountain farmhouse overlooking the Pacific Ocean on the coast of Taiwan, where Scott Ezell lived with a tribe of aboriginal woodcarvers and built a recording studio from driftwood. These ambient instrumental songs express the color and texture of the ocean with traditional instruments from four continents. Total time, 63 minutes.
