Texas Singer/songwriter/guitarist. Relies mainly on influences of Traditional Country, Rockabilly and early Rock and Roll to define his sound. More country than folk but Fant's writing still retains a regional flavor that tells tales of life on the rural fringes of big city Texas.
"Scott Fant took the stage and sat in front of the giant red velvet curtain of the Palace Theater stage. This red curtain along with Scott's humble presence created a visual that reminded us it doesn't matter how grand and sophisticated the world is around us, it's still simplicity that draws our attention. Scott has been an incredible singer, songwriter and musician for many years and his performance last Saturday displayed each of those abilities. Scott's performance not only bewitched the crowd in front of him but amazed the entertainers backstage as well. He has this amazing ability to paint pictures with his words and create a mood with his music. Much the same way Townes Van Zandt lead you to believe the characters in his songs were real people and the way Lyle Lovett makes you picture him sitting on his horse on a boat. What a great down to earth performance." --Carey Dean, Corsicana Daily Sun music columnist and radio personality 106.9 'The Ranch' Ft. Worth TX
"(Scott Fant) has a lack of willingness to compromise his musical vision in order to attract the interest of the Nashville music machine."-- Al Kunz, independent CD reviews @ www.rockzilla.net
"We are lucky in Texas to have such talent as Scott Fant...Scott takes us on a journey of what country music should be and will be again. Country music is in good hands as long as people like Fant are writing and singing the songs that tell our story." -- David Ross, Radio personality on 'The Ranch' 106.9 FM Ft Worth TX.
"Scott Fant is one of the best, most original singer/songwriters I've come across in a long time. His songs are believable, enjoyable, descriptive with no wasted words." - Tommy Alverson, singer/songwriter
