On this CD, "Scultura Sana 5" [Sound Sculpture 5], Hall presents 17 pieces with a duration of over 43 minutes. He performs on electric bass guitar, synthesizer, digital sampler, the rare Vietnamese electric dan bau, and two instruments invented by the artist: the 6 and 4-stringed electric bass harmonitar. Several works are recorded as one-take live tracks but more often, the artist tends to use sound like a sculptural material: he gradually builds up layer upon layer of precise harmony, melody, and rhythm to create intricate pieces that are vividly pictorial in their impact on the ear and the mind of the listener.
