Scott gerber, known as the "jewish cowboy" has been herding and caring for cattle in sonoma, california for the past 25 years. As well, for 25 years, Scott has been playing guitar and singing both yiddish folk songs and cowboy songs. In 2002, an 18 minute documentary about Scott was produced by Bonnie Burt and has been since shown at Jewish film festivals around the country. Scott often accompanies the film and sings live to the audiences. This is Scott's very first c.d. which features both traditional yiddish songs about working people and familiar social justice songs by Woodie Guthrie and Earl Robinson. According to the Petaluma Argus Courier Newspaper, "Songs of a Jewish Cowboy" is unique.
