Album Notes

This CD represents the second recording project released by myself (Scott Gwinnell) and WSG Records. It is a piano-trio record with an emphasis on standards. I’ve prided myself on composing and have written over 200 works; I’ve been wanting, however, for a long time to express myself interpreting jazz standards. I’ve picked tunes that are not played everyday, but still are very interesting. I’ve also included one original, ‘Bounce’. I am assisted by, arguably, one of Detroit’s best bassist and drummer combo of Kurt Krahnke and Sean Dobbins. I can’t say enough about these guys. They brought a level of playing to this record that inspired me to play things that pushed personal boundaries while at the same time, swung hard. My first CD was a big-band record by my 16-piece group, The Scott Gwinnell Jazz Orchestra. I wanted to make my second release completely different. I hope you enjoy the music, and I welcome any feedback.

Thank you, Scott Gwinnell
