Album Notes

'Chasing Paradise' was recorded at Low Key Productions in Missouri and was, in fact, the very first project for this brand new studio. Scott talks about the experience:
"This was a very difficult album to make. Although it certainly wasn't my first time in a studio, it was my first serious music CD. Many things went wrong, not least of which was overcoming the thousand and one "GREMLINs" that came with breaking in a new studio. Still, I was fortunate to have some very good musicians on this project, and in the end, the positive beat out the negative.
This is not a happy album (with the exception of High on a Hill). It is an album of obsession, cynicism, lost love and fear. Unfortunatly, too many people can identify with these topics. I think it helped me to have this outlet to confront my own demons.

REVIEWS

Turns out to be quite a catchy CD. I really enjoyed it!

It truly is reminicent of the classic rock style. Still it retains an originality and darkness that suprised me. I've heard some of Scott's other recordings which are comedic in nature, and so this CD caught me off gaurd. I don't know what I expected, but it wasn't this. I identified with the song Laura, as something I do not wish to talk about, happened to me not all that long ago. The beautifully haunting song disturbed me yet may me feel that someone else understands what I am going through. And the song A Subtle Ruse (Laura part two), is so much how I am dealing with my pain, that it is oddly comforting. Cynics Inc. is a great political comentary that places the blame for all the things that are going on now, at our own feet as well as the politicians. My favorite, I think, is the title track. I guess he's running away from something to (or running too something). All the songs are pretty good and it sometimes feels like it is a concept album (which I like). I enthusiasically recommend CHASING PARADISE. I think it has songs that most of us can identify with.
