Scott Ivey sings to me...
He sings about me...
He writes his songs and stories and melodies with me in mind.
See, that's what great singers and writers and storytellers do.
They make a very real connection with their "audience" - no
matter who or where they may be - and then they invite
listeners along for a wonderful ride.
Scott Ivey is a great singer and writer and storyteller.
As co-founder, lead singer and primary songwriter for the
robert barnes band, Ivey made a name for himself as "that
guy with the great voice in that band... you know... the one
that's named after somebody who's not even in the band?"

For more than 8 years, the rbb helped define rock and roll in
Atlanta, Georgia. Their southern-fried live shows left listeners
humming tunes and fighting back jerky head-bangs long after
the band left the stage. Comparisons put the rbb in the same
vein as The Black Crowes, Foo Fighters, Lenny Kravitz
and even Weezer.

Nowadays, Ivey has slowed down a bit -
trading in power chords and guttural screams
for more acoustic-style melodies patterned after
his love for "meaningful lyrics and melodies that
tap into more of a spiritual vein ," he says.

This guys' the shizz. Every song is fantastic. Simple lyrics blend together to create a deeper meaning. Riffs are great and catchy. One of the few that I search to find on my Ipod.

Scott Ivey is of the caliber talent that deserves to be heard. Not only does Scott deserve it - as an informed and educated and critical listener - YOU deserve it. These 5 songs capture the essence of soul and realism of pop and rock as sure as a drop of rain can capture an image of the Sun. 

You really do need to buy this record. Listen to it. Study it. Critique it. And then share it with all of your friends. Pretty soon you'll be as proud of this young man as I am.

A great artist with a really good first-time EP.
