Album Notes

Known among top musicians and producers across America, Scott Nelson is considered to be a top shelf recording musican. Known for his melodic and soulful bass lines, Scott also plays acoustic guitar and keyboards, As a certified recording engineer, Scott uses his own Pro Tools workstation to write, produce and perform his music.

"English Field" is Scott's first original music CD although his playing has been featured on many recordings dating back to the early seventies working with artists and producers across America. Most notably, Scott was the featured bassist on virtually all recordings made by Norman Petty (Buddy Holly's producer) during the last five plus years of Mr. Petty's carreer.

Scott has also traveled with Atlantic recording artist Jay Boy Adams touring with ZZ Top as well as Columbia artist Milton Carroll opening shows for Willie Nelson. Recently Scott was the featured bassist on his second PBS Special for Los Angeles pianist/composer Jim Wilson featuring Jim's music and top L.A. session musicians.

Influenced by music from blues to pop, jazz & country, the music you find inside "English Field" showcases Scott's ability to write, record, play guitar, bass, keyboards and sing soulful vocals.

I think that English Field is a good first offering of the music of Scott Nelson. The songs range across differing music styles from love songs to tributes to pop tunes. Scott has obvious instrumental talent that shines through in the tracks on this CD.
