Scott Sommers was born and raised in Sacramento, CA. Working at the original Tower Record Store, he was exposed to endless artists and genres. The experience proved to be one of the biggest influences to his music. Yearning to live in the mountains, Scott moved to rural Northern California where he performed in various bands and individually on the coffee house circuit. During these formative years, Scott developed his songwriting skills which have proven to be the most rewarding part of his musicianship. Scott presently lives in Lake County where he has spent his recent past honing his songwriting skills.
Scott first started playing acoustic guitar in high school, carrying a guitar wherever he went. Years of experimentation with harmonica, electric guitar, banjo, mandolin, and most recently, ukulele have added to the breath of the songs he writes. As the singer songwriter matured, so did his music. On this first collection, Scott brings insight and inspiration to his own brand of Country Rock. Influenced by the singer songwriters of many decades, Scott delivers authenticity, personal reflections, and love sonnets in a rich blend of songs recorded at Northern California’s City of Light. Back Where I Belong is the result of those recording sessions.
