Album Notes

Scott Stroman is an inspiring and uniquely broad musician, equally at home in classical, jazz, and world music. He is a conductor, composer, trombonist and singer who has worked with artists from all over the world including Youssou N'Dour, Herbie Hancock, Billy Cobham, Rufus Reid, David Liebman, Dizzy Gillespie, Randy Brecker, Kenny Wheeler, Bobby Wellins, Norma Winstone, John Taylor and many others.

Songs of the Spirit is a cycle of songs written by Scott Stroman specifically for the forward thinking Eclectic Voices choir, as well as the supreme talents of Bobby Wellins on sax, Phil Lee on guitar, Peter Churchill on piano, Tim Wells on bass and Brian Abrahams, whose beautiful South African spirit is always reflected in his drumming.
