Scotty Karate's been everywhere, he's stomped up and down every highway in the country to bring good-time folk and rock music the kind you dance around to, shooting fingers in the air as you spin to little kids by a creek, and it just so happens that we are those little kids by the creek, looking for weird creatures in the mud and, folks, you just found one hell of a weird creature in Scotty Karate
There's a reason you'll find him on beer bottles throughout his native Michigan: This dude leads the life we all wish we did, and now Scotty Karate brings us the band we wish we all had.
Scotty Karate is no less of a mythical figure than Zeus, and his musical company is like a pack of matches. Get on the bus, get in the teepee, get up off the floor and get in line.

He's also got a beer named after him - Dark Horse Brewing"s, Marshall Michigan - Scotty Karate Scotch Ale. It's an awesome beer, and worthy of the Karate namesake.

Scotty Karate’s latest recording, Get In The Teepee, conjures the true spirit of his exciting and memorable show, as it captures this demented leprechaun of benzedrine-fueled old-timey Americana punk in his true element: live performance. But not even the highest-fi can fully represent Scotty Karate’s show: his music is not only an audio experience, but a living/breathing/visual experience as well. Get In The Teepee distills this sonic imagery best, partly due to the fact that it was recorded by the respected Tim Pak (producer of many quality Americana-styled recordings), as well as Karate’s mastery and craftsmanship of great original songs and performance. Scotty’s style, though all his own, can be best likened to a combination of Hasil Adkins, Violent Femmes, Jerry Lee Lewis, Rev. Horton Heat, etc.
