Album Notes

Steven Courtney Band's latest album titled Momma's Homemade Soup, released April 1, 2006,
features new americana originals like "Bucket of Jam", "Monkey in the Band", "18 Years" and more. The band has worked hard over the last 6 years to develop music for the whole family.

The Steven Courtney Band is finding new audiences everyday. Everywhere the band travels, people of all ages sing, clap and dance to the band's infectious music! Performing concerts in "state of the art" auditoriums, run-down school gymnasiums, old-time churches, summer festivals and more -- this band always wins their audience.

Steven Courtney Band's current live show titled "The Rattle Bang Boom Tour," combines the use of old-time instruments to deliver -- a guitar strummin,' can smackin,' banjo pickin,' bucket thumpin,' children dancin,' parents laughin,' old people hollerin,' travelin' musical extravaganza! The band continues to create fresh, exciting new music, yet keeps a great respect for the long standing tradition of American music, known as Americana. According to the Americana Music Association (AMA), Americana refers to folk, country, bluegrass, and ethnic American music. Steven Courtney Band's brand, of original Americana music, blends various styles into one joyful sound. Most good folks would agree that Americana music, appeals to a wide variety of people and the Steven Courtney Band delivers this style of music, amazingly well. (or one could say, with ease).

The "Americana/Folk" style of 2005's album, "25 Cent Songs," was a bit of a departure in style for Steven Courtney Band. Yet fans have found these tracks very entertaining with a welcoming freshness! The album, "25 Cent Songs, has produced several new concert favorites which include: "Rattle Bang Boom," "Harmonica Veronica," "Nice Little House" and "Water From The Well." Children have always loved Steven Courtney's music and now it seems that parents are really appreciating his music more that ever and want to play his records over and over just like their kids.

*Earlier in 2005, Steven Courtney Band's folk/rock album, titled "Monkey Business As Usual" won the Children's Music Web Award in Category 9 for Best Recording (Album) for Older Children, ages 8-12.
