THE SCREAMIN’ PRIMAS, A TRIBUTE TO LOUIS PRIMA, as the name implies, are a Louis Prima Tribute band. A quick Google search will find you some great information on this Rat-Pack vintage entertainer whose music and voice are heard on movie soundtracks, TV commercials and in Italian restaurants to this day.
Children will remember his unforgettable voice, singing the “I Wanna To Be Like You - oo oo” song, as the character King Louie, in the Disney classic animated feature The Jungle Book.
Movie goers have heard him on the soundtracks of movies such as Will Ferrell’s ELF, and Robert DeNiro’s CASINO. Also, Louis Prima wrote the swing-era classic “Sing, Sing, Sing’ as well as the fun-to-dance-to “Jump, Jive and Wail”.
The CD, “THE SCREAMIN’ PRIMAS, Welcome the Screamin’ Primas” is a compilation of memorable Louis Prima tunes as recorded by the band THE SCREAMIN’ PRIMAS, A TRIBUTE TO LOUIS PRIMA.
The band features Guy and Lynette Gonzales on lead vocals. Steve Steinberg on Sax, Steve Dillard on Trumpet, Kevin Esposito on Trombone, Paul Bleifuss on Drums, Roger Daschle on Upright Bass, and Steve Smith on keyboards.
Lynette’s sultry vocal style is a perfect fit on the ballad “You’ve Changed” as well as the fun rendition of “Mambo Italiano”. Steve Steinberg (sax) and the band get greasy-bluesy in the classic shuffle “Night Train”. And Guy Gonzales’ singing takes you through the rest of the CD in classic Louie Prima fashion.
THE SCREAMIN’ PRIMAS are unique in that they re-create the energy and music of Louis Prima’s extremely entertaining Las Vegas show. For calendar updates, to email us, or for more information, contact THE SCREAMIN’ PRIMAS, A TRIBUTE TO LOUIS PRIMA at www.screaminprimas.com.
