Album Notes

Scrimshaw was formed nearly by chance, and nurtured at Bird House Studios of Baltimore, Maryland. Scrimshaw delivers an eclectic brand of acoustic rock, mixing elements of rock, funk, bluegrass, and celtic/world rhythms, Scrimshaw is hard to pigeonhole, yet easy to enjoy. Scrimshaw's members are Philip Lehr (acoustic guitar, vocals), Ryan Berg (electric lead guitar), Todd Hoodenpyle (bass, vocals), and Jamie Wilson (drums, percussion, vocals). The band can be seen at local Baltimore venues such as The Royal and The Funk Box, as well as regional festivals. The lyrics by lead singer Philip Lehr are witty, insightful and always halcyon. "Sometimes" is Scrimshaw's debut CD. Enjoy!

Music Monthly writes:

" I loved listening to Scrimshaw. They are an exciting young group of guys. Apparently the college crowds just loves them. I would definitely say that these guys are off the beating path, but they project such warm feelings through their music. I liked them immediately. Scrimshaw are Philip Lehr on lead vocals and guitar, Ryan Berg is also on guitar, Todd Hoodenpyle on bass, and Jamie does drums. They are upbeat, and that is an understatement. It's good time music, the kind you gotta groove to. I bet they are really good live. I can see why the college crowd digs them."

My taste in music is as good as my street credit, which is pretty damn good. These guys are a nice change of pace from the rock your socks off - scream fest local bands I have been hearing lately and are truly a lot of fun to listen to. Their sound is consistently good and well developed. Acoustic\Jam\Rock at it’s best people. That is all.
