Album Notes

The Stone City Stragglers are a six piece band from Joliet, IL. Yes, the Prison City. Joliet is also known as Stone City because of the Joliet Limestone that used to build the infamous Prison walls and other historic buildings. Being native Stragglers of Joliet, the name was fitting and the rest is history. The Stragglers have carved a name for themselves in the Americana, Alt. Country scene with the release of their debut album "Little Misfortunes & Innocent Mistakes. After two years together as a group they have completed their second release "The Last Resort".

"Recorded in early November, 2003 in Chicago, the Last Resort delivers more than just 12 compelling tracks. At first listen, the band proclaims it's newfound harmony. Lyrical/Musical contributions from nearly all the Stragglers, prove this record to be a truly collaborative effort. The spectrum of songs is yet another testament to the band's maturity. While they haven't lost a twang, the layers of rock and heart-wrench offer listeners a full plate of musical styles. The Last Resort is, indeed, the beginning of an endless road for the Stone City Stragglers.
