Yiddish America
Yiddish America features 14 Klezmer and Yiddish songs performed by the South Coast Simcha Band. This album is packed with the New York and Philadelphia Big Band Klemzer sound, but also has beautiful Yiddish ballads that are filled with emotion and dramatic arrangments. Yiddish America includes many all-time favorite songs, and will make a great addition to any Jewish music collection.
"I have listened to many Klezmer CD's, but none has pleased me more than this one. The individual solos, especially the clarinet, are outstanding. The variety of pieces, including folk songs sung in Yiddish, some of which I recall, are an added bonus. The spirit and expression are completely remarkable and enjoyable."
- Kalman Bloch, solo clarinet, Los Angeles Philharmonic (retired)
This CD is moving, gentle and beautifully refined klezmer and a "must " for every Jewish (and non-Jewish) lover of folk music.
_Michele Zukovsky, Solo Clarinet, Los Angeles Philharmonic
