Ass kickin' Blues Rock with in your face guitar in the vein of Jimi Hendrix, Johnny Winter and SRV.

notes

Like most guitar players with a developing taste for Blues-Rock guitar, Sean grew up listening to the likes of Johnny Winter, the three Kings (BB, Freddie, & Albert), Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, and Billy Gibbons to name a few. Chambers was particularly smitten with the legendary sounds of Jimi Hendrix, and later, Stevie Ray Vaughan. In fact, it was these two players that inspired the young Chambers to delve into their unique styles in depth, which had a noticeable influence on his tone and touch. Sean doesn't merely play the guitar as much as he boldly attacks the instrument with a fluid ferocity and attitude that makes one stop dead in their tracks.
Over the last 15 years, Chambers has continued to evolve through regular touring, not only honing his guitar mastery, but also refining his vocal and songwriting talents along the way. In October 1998, Chambers released his initial recording effort Strong Temptation which to date has shipped more than 15,000 copies. Since then, Chambers has had a number of milestones in his career, one of which was becoming the musical director and guitarist for the legendary Hubert Sumlin of Howlin' Wolf fame. Touring the world with Sumlin for almost five years, they performed before sellout crowds at major clubs and festivals in the US, Europe, Japan, and Canada.
Following in the footsteps of many of his idols, Chambers has been especially well received outside the US, and particularly in Europe where he has both toured with Sumlin and on his own. Europe's premiere music authority, Guitarist magazine, listed him as one of the 50 top guitarist of the last century, edging out the distinguished likes of Kenny Wayne Shepherd and Keb Mo among others. Europe's Total Guitar magazine gave Strong Temptation five stars and cited the record as "the most impressive Blues debut since SRV's Texas Flood."
Chambers continues to develop his powerful style on his March 2004 release Humble Spirits, which showcases his musical evolution beyond the standard blues idiom. Produced by industry veteran Bud Snyder (Allman Brothers / Gov't Mule), the album features several notable musicians including Bernard Allison, Frankie & Danny Toler (Allman Brothers), Bobby T. Torello (Johnny Winter '74-'81), along with Greg Allman Band alumnus Bruce Waibel. Sadly, Bruce unexpectedly passed away while still recording the sessions with Sean, and Humble Spirits is dedicated in Bruce's memory.
A progressive performer and musician, Chambers continues to reinvent himself and develop his talents. 2004 has already seen him playing an opening spot with legendary rockers Lynyrd Skynyrd. Furthermore, Chambers is the only Tampa native performing at this years world renowned Tampa Bay Blues Festival. Sean's regular touring band consists of longtime bassist Tim Blair, drummer Paul Broderick and keyboardist Ben Crider.

  • Listen up Major Record Label's!
    author: Martina Campbell

I have to say that I was very impressed by the sean chambers band. They are one the best blues bands I have heard in along time. The world lost a great legend when we lost Stevie Ray Vaughn but I feel we just found his replacement. His increadiable version of BBKings "Rock Me Baby" just blew me away. If I was a major record album company, I would sign him right now! I love every song on both of his CD's "Strong Temptations and Humble Spirits" and it's the best investment I ever made. All the more I can say is, If you are a major record label out there reading this...you better grab this guy before someone else does!

  • A real Blues man!
    author: Mark L

This CD is truly packed with solid blues, Sean has a very soulful voice, and his guitar work is incredible. I have had the oppurtunity to see him perform live, what a treat to watch someone of his caliber play the blues. Seans second CD "Humble Spirits" is also highly recomended. Sean's rendition of traditional blues songs on this CD is refreshing. Seans own material is just as good as the oldies he covers, with a lively rock twist ala Stevie Ray Vaughn, Robin Trower, Hendrix.

  • Makes the pros look like average Joes
    author: Dave

Sean is a great guitar player! Certainly his musical influences can be heard in this album, but in this reviewer's opinion, he makes them all look like average. I love Sean's rockin' style! Great CD! Can't wait to hear more... Well, I'd really like to keep writing, but I've got to go start the CD over again! ;)

  • Rockin' Blues Heaven
author: Steve (Two Guys Music R.I.)

Ever wonder what Stevie Ray would of sounded like if he went in a more rockin' direction. Strong Temptation sounds just like that. This is one of the meanest rawest loudest most rockin' blues rock CD's I've ever heard. We've sold more of this indie than any other indie BLUES ROCK CD we've carried. So if you like your blues rock on the harder side...with smokin' guitar work in every song I can easily recommend this disc to you hands down. Fans of people like SRV, Walter Trout, BB Chung King, Joe Bonamassa & Ronnie Baker Brooks are sure to love this CD. Hey Sean where's CD #2 it's been a while now.
