Next Time Around - One more time
author: Deborah Keith
On the brink of her new CD release, I took the time
to treat my ears and listen to this CD again.
Not just a cursory listening, but really listen.
Like a fine wine,it just gets better with time.
As a songwriter, Wiggins has the knack of expressing
life's bittersweet moments and loved-lost emotions
superbly. But instead of dwelling on the bumps in
the road, she finds the humor, the fun, and ultimately
the wisdom that one finds along life's journey.
Wiggins has a warm vocal style that compliments
her rich guitar playing. On this CD, that style
is further enriched by the fine accompaniment of
fellow musical friends, and especially Linda Moss
on harp. Moss's harp playing compliments Wiggin's
songs completely, adding soulful depth, and feelings
to the words. When two musicians fully compliment
each other's style, it makes for a definite musical
treat.
So, as you get ready to take the plunge into Wiggins
soon-to-be-released new CD, take a moment to relax,
to reflect, and smile wisely as you listen and discover
'Next Time Around.'

Sean Wiggins delivers another solid collection
author: Jerry Gilio
"Next Time Around" is all about relationships. Sean Wiggins examines the problems that plague all of us when we open up to other people.
"What If" will have a familiar ring to anyone who has second-guessed how they treated someone else, wondering if things could have turned out differently. It's followed up by "Next Time Around", where she optimistically declares that she'll "get it right next time around". Substance abuse proves an insurmountable obstacle in "My Best Friend".
Just when you're starting to wonder why she would continue to subject herself to all this abuse, Sean answers with "Hopeful". It reassures us that love can take the sting out of life.
Two of my favorite tracks are "Before I Fall" and "Unrequited". "Before I Fall" deals with the fear of commitment that grows out of a series of failed love affairs. "Unrequited" has a beautiful, minor melody that underscores a wonderful romance...that only exists in the singer's imagination.
A notable achievement was that "No Difference" won 1st Place for R&B/Blues in the 11th Billboard Song Contest in 2002. Sean trades her guitar for a piano on this beautful number and shows yet another facet to her considerable talent.
