Album Notes

Sean Wiggins, a centered and attention-grabbing, blue eyed, soul diva is how she's been described, but there's much more to Wiggins when she takes to the stage or gets in the studio. You will find that her recordings define her inner most feelings at that precise time in her life. As an artist, Wiggins is making waves! A song from Wiggins past, "Jane and the Goats", is currently featured on the critically acclaimed and award winning independent film, "God, Sex, and Apple Pie". In addition, in January 2002, Wiggins song styling will be featured on MTV's hit night drama, "MTV Undressed".

The summer of 2001 was a busy one for Wiggins. While recording her newest CD, "Next Time Around", she toured the country opening for Sophie B Hawkins and Jill Sobule, while hitting large music festivals such as Chicago's Market Days, which hosts 350,000 people. She also played shows all over Southern California and even hit Atlanta, Georgia. Fall 2001, Wiggins graced the stage of the Houston Women's Festival, hosted a variety of CD release parties, and returned to the Windy City with Linda Moss (harmonica) to play the renowned Hard Rock/Chicago, along with other local venues.

Wiggins was recently chosen by SBS Records, founded by singer Michelle Malone, to be featured on their first compilation CD, distributed nationally in Fall 2001. Wiggins was also included on GoGirlsMusic.com's latest CD release, GoGirlsMusicFest 2001. Both CD's include fan-favorite, "VW hatchback", from her first solo release, "1000 Steps". VW Hatchback was a 2001 MP3 Hot Pick as well as a chart climber on their Alternative General board. Sean has also been receiving radio play over the airwaves and over the Internet waves all over the US and has been featured with live interviews and reviews in both arenas. Cornell University radio recently did a full hour long show with live interviews and plays from her latest and upcoming CDs.

Wiggins has recorded with producers such as Michael Sembello, (Diana Ross, Gerardo), David Campbell, (Alanis Morissette, James Taylor), Howie Rice, (Pointer Sisters) and Genya Ravan. Her music and performances have been covered in various industry publications including Bam Magazine and Album Network who wrote, "Sean Wiggins, whose powerful vocals easily recall the best qualities of Janis Joplin, Melissa Etheridge and Sass Jordan." Music Connection said, "Sean Wiggins could easily be misidentified as a simple singer/songwriter, but what she does is so much more. She actually takes you into her world and makes you feel right at home.

With all this, come check out a live show or listen to her new CD, her 2nd solo release. You can find Sean's music and tour dates on her web site, at www.seanwiggins.com. She will be playing all over the US in 2002, so keep an eye out.

Next Time Around - One more time
author: Deborah Keith
On the brink of her new CD release, I took the time to treat my ears and listen to this CD again. Not just a cursory listening, but really listen. Like a fine wine,it just gets better with time. As a songwriter, Wiggins has the knack of expressing life's bittersweet moments and loved-lost emotions superbly. But instead of dwelling on the bumps in the road, she finds the humor, the fun, and ultimately the wisdom that one finds along life's journey. Wiggins has a warm vocal style that compliments her rich guitar playing. On this CD, that style is further enriched by the fine accompaniment of fellow musical friends, and especially Linda Moss on harp. Moss's harp playing compliments Wiggin's songs completely, adding soulful depth, and feelings to the words. When two musicians fully compliment each other's style, it makes for a definite musical treat. So, as you get ready to take the plunge into Wiggins soon-to-be-released new CD, take a moment to relax, to reflect, and smile wisely as you listen and discover 'Next Time Around.'

Sean Wiggins delivers another solid collection
author: Jerry Gilio
"Next Time Around" is all about relationships. Sean Wiggins examines the problems that plague all of us when we open up to other people. "What If" will have a familiar ring to anyone who has second-guessed how they treated someone else, wondering if things could have turned out differently. It's followed up by "Next Time Around", where she optimistically declares that she'll "get it right next time around". Substance abuse proves an insurmountable obstacle in "My Best Friend". Just when you're starting to wonder why she would continue to subject herself to all this abuse, Sean answers with "Hopeful". It reassures us that love can take the sting out of life. Two of my favorite tracks are "Before I Fall" and "Unrequited". "Before I Fall" deals with the fear of commitment that grows out of a series of failed love affairs. "Unrequited" has a beautiful, minor melody that underscores a wonderful romance...that only exists in the singer's imagination. A notable achievement was that "No Difference" won 1st Place for R&B/Blues in the 11th Billboard Song Contest in 2002. Sean trades her guitar for a piano on this beautful number and shows yet another facet to her considerable talent.
