Album Notes

Sean Wright has embarked upon the seemingly impossible. He is releasing an album a month from the end of April 2007 for an entire year. Think: Gary Jules meets Cary Brothers meets Bob Dylan meets John Lennon meets Jeff Buckley, and you get part of the sound picture. Add a pop-rock dose of The Killers, T.Rex, and Snow Patrol and you get the rest.

Each Sean Wright album contains 12 tracks - that's 12x12. 144 tracks in a year. The first album called TIDALWAVE was released 30 April 2007, and subsequent releases will come thick and fast at the end of each month. SHATTER's album number #2, released at the end of May 2007.

"It sounds crazy, doesn't it?" Wright said. "While putting out an album every month is an awful idea if you try to release and promote records the old-fashioned way -- coordinating and organising retail distribution, publicity, and radio promotion behind something that lands everywhere all at once – it certainly gives people something to talk about. I haven't had to spend time or effort promoting the songs. I've spent all my time writing and recording, and the way I've structured the releases alone has made people notice. An album-a-month has a nice ring to it, doesn't it? That and the fact that I give away an mp3 every month on myspace."

The hugely ambitious album-a-month project is taking on a life of its own, as word of mouth spreads. With hits and plays of his music increasing tenfold on myspace, gathering fans from all walks of life from record buyers to musicians.

Wright is currenly collaborating musically with several major songwriters, musicians, and producers around the world.

Asia's biggest pop icon, Najam Sheraz, calls Wright's songwriting "awesome!" Wright and Sheraz began a music collaboration in May 2007, writing new material for a future album project. Sheraz has invited Wright on his world tour, 2007, and they have played together in July 2007 at the historical Pakistani Festival Trafalgar Square, London. The festival marked the 60th Anniversary of Independence for Pakistan, and as well being watched by a 12,000 crowd, it was aired to millions worldwide by GEO TV.

Top producer, Roman Klun said Sean Wright’s project, “all sounds and feels good."

Roman Klun is the award-winning record producer, music engineer and singer/songwriter who worked on Sarah McLachlan's Grammy nominated and Juno Award winning record "Afterglow."

Enigmatic producer and songwriter, Alexander Nevermind (aka La Tour and other pen names) has also spoken out about Wright's songwriting, saying: "An album a month sounds like a prolifically creative individual... love your music and your work ethic... I will make a point of getting all twelve releases."

Wright is a singer/songwriter who first made his name at Peer-Southern Music publishing house, Denmark St, London, co-writing songs with Hollywood hitmaker, Kim Fowley. He released his debut 45 single "Strange Situation" in 1978 to critical acclaim in the UK press. The NME said, "Wright is an enigmatic purveyor of powerful pop." Wright's 1980s band, International Heroes, is credited in the Encyclopaedia of British Heavy Metal as forerunner of the Powerpop movement. He co-managed the hugely-popular all-girl Swedish band, Ice Age, voted Best Female Group in the World 1989/1990 by Kerrang! magazine readers. He co-produced and directed their MTV video "Instant Justice" and co-ordinated their sell-out European tour, in which the band sold out London's Marquee Club, The Hippodrome, and the Astoria.

He's a three time British Fantasy Award finalist for excellence in fantasy/horror/sci-fi writing. His song lyrics explore the ups and downs of life, heartache and joy, and his own unique take on human relationship.
