ABOUT THIS ALBUM

Album Notes
From classical piano lessons as a child, to a year of study at Berklee College of Music, to a week of sitar lessons in India, to a year-after-year return to the Swannanoa Gathering Guitar/Contemporary Folk Week, Searra Gisondo has been on quite a diverse musical journey in her 24 years....and it's only begun. She has been writing songs since adolescent years, and 11 of her dozens of "hoarded-up" tunes have at last made it onto a debut album available to public ears. "A debut album is important," Searra says, "and I wanted to create something that gives the listener and idea of all the things I am and do without sounding too disjointed." 'Key of Sea' does just that, showcasing Searra's diverse musical tastes and talents, while held seamlessly together by her versatile voice, creative guitar (as well as ukulele and sitar) parts, and easy to relate to lyrics. In addition, 'Key of Sea' showcases a variety of talented musicians and tasteful arrangements.
