Album Notes

With talent that remains full of fierce energy, Searson continues to astound their audiences with unguarded sincerity in their vocals, raw fiddling and ferocious step dancing. These three sisters have been taking North America by storm, performing an average of 150 shows a year.

Growing up in the Ottawa Valley of Ontario, Canada, Erin, Heather and Colleen Searson began performing for audiences at a young age. With each sister learning various instruments, the earliest beginning at age 4, their lives were filled with a love and appreciation of music. These sisters gradually excelled in their individual instruments which include Erin on piano, lead vocals, mandolin and step dancing, Heather on bass and step dancing and Colleen on fiddle, vocals, mandolin and step dancing. These sisters began by performing at volunteer events within their local community and eventually moved on to bars, clubs, theatres and festivals. What began as a summer job that consisted of live performances in Ontario and Quebec turned into a full time career for these girls as they performed throughout both Canada and the U.S.

Searson recorded their first full length album when Colleen was 12 years old and since then have recorded A Different Kind of Light, (summer 2008), Searson Live (2005), Follow (2004) and House Party (2002). Searson's early traditional stylings quickly expanded to reflect other music the band enjoyed including rock, country and folk music. Produced by Jordon Zadorozny, their latest album A Different Kind of Light, has a Roots Pop feel with a distinctly organic sound. The live show reflects the bands' latest albums as their high energy performances include all original music. With a relentless tour schedule ahead, Searson will be performing live in Canada, the U.S. and Europe.
