Album Notes

Second Chance is a very powerful Rock n' Roll band with a very aggressive edge. Spawned back in early 94' out their hometown of La Puente California, the boys have been compared to Social Distortion, Rancid and Face To Face but with their own twist.
The band released it's 1st full length CD "Double or Nothing" on Loaded Bomb Records in 1998 & has gotten rave revues in local magazines, fanzines & online websites. In March of 2002 the boys released their follow-up entitled "The Right & Wrong EP" which was voted "Independent Album Of The Year" at the 12th Annual Los Angeles Music Awards in 2002, with their most recent release "Mama Tried" in Winter or 2003 which was featured on 95.5 KLOS radio in Los Angeles.
Second Chance has shared the stage with acts like : Save Ferris, Dee Dee Ramone, No Motiv, D.I., Zeke, Los Infernos, Face to Face, Youth Brigade, Dramarama, Welt, Trapt & Total Chaos to name a few.
Second Chance is one hell of a live band, even though punk rock has become some what of a cultural phenomonon, Second Chance can still capture the adrenaline of a kick ass rock band. Straight up in your face Rock & Roll!!! Make sure you catch them when they roll through your town.

Rev it up!!!
author: Skratch Magazine
Well, I'm not exactly sure WHAT Mama tried, but I can tell you that Second Chance are a quintet from La Puente, CA, that specialize in melodic rock that's rough around the edges (in the vein of Social D or Face to Face). Vocalist Richard Mares has a raspy, smoked-too-many-cigarettes-by-the-age-of-18 thing down to a T. The band also features Marc Harismendy (formerly of Save Ferris) on drums. Second Chance's brightest moments come on tracks like "Right & Wrong", "Sore Eyes", and the vaguely familiar "Chasing Dreams". Most interesting is the revved-up cover of the '50s classic "The Letter" and the closing, acoustic number "Reaching Out". The disc also features a kick-ass J.D. paperback novel album cover that's worth mentioning. So if you've heard these cats before and you just weren't sure, come on back and give 'em a second chance!

This is one of my favorite bands and this cd really rocks. I love the intensity of this band. They really sound as described, "high octane rock n roll". I love the cover song and the closing song is really touching.
