Second Soul is modern hard rock by seasoned, professional musicians. The spirit of the group is expressed in the name: Where “first soul” references the world of form (who we think we are), the “second soul” refers to the mystical and indefinable aspect beyond ego. There is more to the world than meets the eye and Second Soul explores that nexus, where personal power and self-expression meet.
The idea of the band was born after world-renown guitar virtuoso and music educator Troy Stetina met Mark Tremonti (Creed/Alter Bridge) in 2002. In the early 90s, Mark had been inspired by Troy’s classic “shredder Bible,” Speed Mechanics for Lead Guitar. After the two met through GuitarOne magazine, a friendship ensued and inspiration was repaid. As Troy coached Mark on lead guitar technique, Mark—the consummate rock songwriter—helped Troy with arrangements. And Troy was inspired to form a band.

must-have for hardrock fans

Great album! No song sounds like the other, they are all unique. Troy is doing an awesome job on the guitar, his riffs and solos are amazing. If you like hardrock you' ll like it for sure.

cutting edge hard rock

An album that delivers exactly what it promises, cutting edge hard rock in the style of Alter Bridge
I thoroughly enoy this album from beginning to end. What they play and how they sound is perfect together and couldn't be improved. Melodies and songs are not so memorable and accessible as some of Alter Bridges songs though. It will take some listenes till you can sing along. With 15 tracks a real long player. I recommend it!!
