This band is for lovers. Based in the bohemian stronghold of Asheville, North Carolina, the Secret B-Sides produce a fresh sound, rooted in the classic feel of Soul music and updated with the modern sensibilities of Hip Hop, Nu Soul, and avant garde. The concept of the band is simple to understand; It's a band about three things, 1) love, 2) dinosaurs, and 3) flying saucers. Fully equipped with these three essentials the Secret B-Sides are here on the planet, ready to help the people of Earth get together, feel a little sexy, and have some good, clean fun--to the sound of drums and electric bass, as well as nylon-stringed guitar, finished with a vinyl-smooth vocal. Sometimes accompanied by brass, sometimes keys, always live and intimate, the B-Sides have been steaming up windows and flexing dance floorboards since the fall of 2007 in venues packed with Asheville's world-renowned freak assortment. According to the Mountain Xpress's yearly poll, the good people of Asheville christened the Secret B-Sides as 'the second-best local band nobody's heard.'
