I know I wanted more when it ended! I found myself tapping
my feet along with 'influence' and closing my eyes and enjoying the depth of the title song...then changing speeds with 'Nothing on You' - the CD shows a wide range of style

With her third CD “Hard Times Hit”, Seela has pulled off another free ride toward rock stardom. This release, while bringing up a more laid back appeal to listeners, brings forth an easy edge, rock-pop feel. With a sound similar to Edie Brickell and huskiness comparable to Sheryl Crow, Seela produces a multiple mood CD full of heartbreak and how to quickly get over it. Such intensity coming out of uncontrolled and honest lyrics, matched with Seela’s deep, rustic vocals. “Hard Times Hit” is full of love, betrayal and how to get over that a-hole who broke your heart. It’s a pure joyride of pop meets rock with a sexy voice feeding the microphone. Hard times may have hit for Seela, but at least the experience she had, gave the opportunity for one successful CD that you must own in your collection!

seela's new record is like a ride with a stranger. Just hop on in, hold on tight, and keep your hand near the door handle. "Hard Times Hit", seela's 3rd record, finds her in no mood to give a crap what anyone else thinks about her.
It's a terse, hairy travelogue that makes a broad round trip from
cautious beginnings to brutal endings and back again. Musically loose, rich and varied, it's scary, it's beautiful, and it's anchored by that big, luscious voice, alternately calm, mad, hurt and searching. It's about as comforting as a kidnapping can be.
