Album Notes

KUT's LIVE SET is one of the best Radio Shows ever. One hour of live Texas music recorded in Studio 1-A at the University of Texas. Seela and her band 4-Eyes were invited to do a LIVE SET on April 25th, 2004 and the result was so good (and so much fun) that they've decided to release it on CDbaby.

This CD features 5 new songs unavaliable anywhere else, and 4 previously released Seela originals. Included is "Alysa and Jane" off Seela's first (and hard to find) album, Probably Lucy (1994).

"It's just the four of us in the studio, live, doing what we do. No overdubs, no re-takes. I'm really happy with the way it turned out. "

a portion of the profits from the sale of this CD goes to support KUT, Austin's Public Radio.

Recorded Live on KUT 90.5FM in Austin, Texas
Hosted by Teresa Ferguson and Engineered by Cliff Hargrove.
Check out "LIVE SET" Sundays at 7 on www.kut.org.

REVIEWS

Clever, clear, touching, familiar music.

Her voice melts in my ears, the songs are all deeply expressive and articulate. Cool drum change-ups and twists and turns of the melody and mood. I can't eject it from my car's CD player!

Flawless! Superb!

Perhaps one of the best live albums I've ever heard. This one's a keeper. The chemistry of 4-eyes is obvious, and shines from the first track to the last. My favorite is seela's previously unreleased "Alysa and Jane", but the performance of "under the influence" is pretty much unbeatable.

So glad Seela put these songs on a record. Now I can put her live shows on repeat. She's one of the smartest writers in Austin and this CD reaffirms that. Plus, since it was recorded at KUT, there's none of the clinky beer bottle smokey pool ball cracking talk, but the same badass songwriting and fantastic off-the-cuff performances by Seela and her band.
