Self Destruckt came together in the fall of 2000 from the Midwest town of Kenosha Wisconsin. Located between Chicago and Milwaukee, Kenosha has been a hot bed for the Midwest hardcore and punk music scenes since the early 1980's through today. Self Destruckt spawned itself in 2000 from a variety of punk bands that helped pioneer the punk music scene in Kenosha and this corner of the Midwest back in the early days of the 80's & 90's, including: BIRTH DFX, U.S. DISTRESS, CHARMING DEVIANTS, URBAN DK, BITCH SLAP, BEAUTIFUL BERT, and 10-96. All of these bands have toured much of the U.S. during the 80's & 90's so if you were lucky enough to have been around the punk scene back then you may have heard of some of them. Maybe you knocked back a few beers with them when they played your town. Though the above-mentioned bands come from the same place, they all had their own style and sound. Self Destruckt's sound combines a bit of influence from all of them to create thier brand of heavy guitar driven aggressive old school style punk rock.
