Album Notes
Thank you for supporting independent music! We are an Indie/Dream-Pop trio based out of the Oakland, CA. The seeds of this sunny-seaside-dream-pop began with Tarabud & Dennis in 2000, joined by Kevin in 2008, which completed the circle for our powerful live shows. The following series of albums were self released from home studio- dubbed Gatherman Productions: Sentinel (self titled) - 2004; The Singles - 2005; Sequels & Hunches E.P. - 2007, and Kites Without Strings - 2008. We are currently in post production for our new album, "For Days Deep" (tracked at PopSmear Studios), to be released in January 2010. We will have an early singles release at live shows in November.

Thankfully ...
Thankfully, the torch of 4AD's legacy is being carried by little-known bands like Sentinel, who know how to absorb angelic atmosphere with melodic mastery and timeless chic. Sequels And Hunches is a 6-song mini-album that hints at the rare majesty of Cocteau Twins EP's. I'm not quite sure how these blue-collar folks make such perfectly lush dream-pop, but the outcome is nothing less than mystical. While utilizing some synth/keyboard work, Sentinel has crafted their own brand of pop that draws liberally from sources like Cocteau Twins, Blonde Redhead, My Bloody Valentine, Lush, Dead Can Dance, and Slowdive. This record is very danceable, yet is equally light. There are few bands as worthy of your attention as Sentinel is, and Sequels And Hunches is a delightfully blissed-out dreamy affair. 4.2007

Just a fan
Shoegazer fans will adore this Bay Area band
I'm so pleased to see that a Bay Area band can capture the very essence of former UK counterparts such as Slowdive, Lush, and Cocteau Twins (as the previous reviewer pointed out). Don't let the comparisons fool you though, because Sentinel have etched out a sound that is very distinctly theirs. Sentinel have shown real progression on this EP and I expect great things from them in the future. Fans of the 90's shoegazer era will certainly find a place in their hearts for Sentinel. Since purchasing this CD (thank you CD Baby!) it's been on permanent rotation. I love it, and I love Sentinel.
