Album Notes

Words from the writer of 'Love Carries On' - Brad Chiet

The idea started in October with a call from Monica Iken - who had lost her husband in Tower #2 on September 11th. She decided to start a foundation to honor those who had lost their lives, and with the goal of keeping the memories of those people alive in our hearts

I was asked to write a song that reflected hope, and lend a positive outlook to those who had suffered a similar loss.

This was a monumental task for me at that time - as my feelings of the event where more of anger and resentment. To pull something positive, or even inspiring out of this seemed impossible.

So on my search for that higher road, a road many of those directly affected by 9/11 were looking for, I spoke with family and friends about their feelings.

What I learned related not only to the Towers, but also to anyone who had lost someone special in their lives.

Love Carries On is a universal song about sudden loss. About losing someone close to you. About something everyone will face at some point. It is the idea that even though someone is taken from us so suddenly, we can still learn from them, and even carry a piece of their spirit on in our thoughts and actions.

Death ends a life, but it does not end a relationship.

I hope this song inspires and strengthens.

Thank you - and to all the musicians and artists who have work so hard.

I like this song. It's neat that it refers to our lost loved ones as guardian angels-because that is what they are.
