This is the debut album by the Serafin Sanchez Jeremy Jones Quintet. These high school friends have been playing together since 1996 when they first started writing original music and performing. Their friendship and musical collaboration has grown continuously, even though they live in different cities. Serafin lives in Denver while Jeremy lives in Seattle. Their music has become a potent blend of musical juices cultivated these in different locales. The SSJJQ has been performing in the Denver area several times a year for 5 years now, leaving audiences inspired by their energy and enthusiasm. This album comes from a performance in October 2006 at Dazzle Jazz Club and features all original music composed by Serafin and Jeremy.

Joining Serafin and Jeremy on this recording are some of Denver’s finest jazz musicians. Brad Goode blasts the trumpet with fire, humor, and swing. Pat Bianchi’s solos swirl with energy to the boiling point and then brim over. Mark Simon lays a stalwart foundation, punctuated by well-placed bombs. The group plays together naturally and cohesively, and simultaneously each member shines. This album has a joyful feeling that will appeal to listeners of all ages and preferences.
