Serg Severe hails from Portland, Oregon. The hip-hop scene there may be small but has always been growing steadily in the last few years, with many voices trying to make its way to the surface. If Walk In My Shoes (Metro League) is any indication, perhaps it's time for Serge to make his presence known outside of the Pacific Northwest. As he says in the intro, every word I speak is justified, which means when he is given the mic, there's no time for bullshit. In fact, he delivers his credo in the first full rack, "Sings To Me": The world's gonna show me some love, a'ight? Even though these snakes and sharks love to bite Even though the devil and angel love to fight Put the pen through my heart, 'cause I love to write This is not a hobby, you copy, papi Original document, not a carbon copy Give it to you crystal, never bars that's sloppy At times I feel trapped in a bottomless hole And yes, it's far from rap when you manifest soul this is hard to match, and connot be sold And yo, it makes me laugh, the game is funny Cats only it for the fame and money Thick chains and honeys But when it comes down to it, they really changing nothing dang, it's insane not a grain of substance That's all you had to say, you must be saving something The rest of the album works on that level, and when you hear Serge, you can imagine pen to paper, and mind to mic. There's a nice "hidden freestyle" on the CD, and that will only make new fans want to hear more. There are many ways to listen to and create rap music, but I always like a bit of intelligence, a bit of smarts, I don't care if it's street smarts, academics, or simply applying ones skills and hunger to just make something that means something. Serge Savere is not to be ignored.

A couple years ago Serge spat "I'm drunker than two kids thats eleven, offa two 2/11s but I'm twenty two and that's two elevens". On this album he spits "My age is two three, and I'm focused in the zone like I'm playin' tha 2-3, raps make the crowd aplause like I hit two threes, plus I been at it for six years and that's two threes".... I for one can't wait to see what this kid has got to say after his next birthday. Every bar of every cut on here is not just solid, it's coming from an excellerated mind set. I got respect.

this guy is nice on da track. serge give u a very versitile style. luv the way he flips his wordz, plus the beats are bang'n.This is a most have 4 true hip-hoppers.

I gave this CD 5 stars because it deserves them. It is so refreshing to hear someone say something real! Not only can you feel the beats, but unlike songs out today, you can respect what he is sayin.
