Album Notes
Hailed as “… a complete artist…” (Alberto Coda, Vita Nuova, Catholic Weekly

Kuriren, Sweden. July 2008), cellist Sergey Antonov won a Gold Medal at the
International Tchaikovsky Competition in 2007.
Born in 1983 into a family of cellists, Sergey has circled the globe playing

in mater classes given by the late Mstislav Rostropovich, that lead to the maestro’s
invitation to join him on tours of Europe and Russia. Sergey Antonov has collaborated
with such artists as conductors Yuri Bashmet, Marius Stravisky, Justus Franz, violinist
Dora Schwartzberg, and pianists Vadim Rudenko, Bernadene Blaha, John Lenehan. He
