seriouskitchen have been carving out a unique musical direction since 1995 with hundreds of appearances in pubs, folk clubs and festivals across the UK. With the release of the latest album, tig, seriouskitchen invite you to a feast of music cooked up their way.

The band's first two albums Celtic Labyrinth (1998) and on the mash (2000) won coverage in Rock 'n' Reel magazine and Traditional Music Maker. Also live appearances on BBC Radio Suffolk and BBC Radio Sheffield.

seriouskitchen embody the folk tradition and make it their own, from kicking jigs and reels to the most ancient of ballads. If they haven't written it, then it's stripped to the bare ingredients and cooked up into something seriously fresh and tasty. Using a whole list of acoustic instruments as diverse as harp and djembe seriouskitchen truly is a big new sound from the Kitchen!

A former classical double bass player and graduate of the Royal College of Music, Vicki is a 'second generation piper' following in her Father's footsteps as an acclaimed professional bagpiper.

Vicki's compositions and solo performances have won her many awards at national competition level.

An acclaimed professional storyteller and ballad singer Nick has a powerful sense of the vitality and richness of traditional song - from Finnish folk music and Tamla Motown through to Gospel and Irish ballads.
Nick's powerful vocal presence gives seriouskitchen a voice of it's own.

Composer and competition-winning guitar player Jonny is the creative engine behind seriouskitchen.

Jonny's outstanding technical ability, coupled with a wide-ranging musical taste has made him a tireless and forceful musical innovator.
