Album Notes

"This album promises something for everyone to hate."
-anonymous critic overheard at a listening party

Purists are fearful people; cross-pollination is the only way to move forward.

Luckily, purity is one label seth will never have. In consumerist love poetry, seth incorporates spoken word, found sounds, tape loops, country-folk, pop and even a little jazz (sometimes all within the same song) to create music that sounds surprisingly spare. consumerist love poetry, as evidenced by the title, is an album about contradictions and ambivalence. The music is at times both agitating and alluring, while the lyrics slide back and forth between the external world of the physical and the internal world of the spiritual, touching on concerns both societal and personal. consumerist love poetry is a dark journey, but it is a journey you'll not only be glad you took, you'll be humming it on the other side.

seth is a musician, writer, performance artist based in Chicago, IL
