Cool old school american metal+progressive metal
author: lloyd mckinley
Great cd with excellent musicianship and great vocals. Melodic yet still retaining a strong metallic edge. This band is something like a mixture of Dream Theater & Sanctuary without the over the top vocals of Sanctuary. Very interesting dark lyrical content adds to the enjoyment of this excellent cd.

we’re dealing with an exciting metal album here

This is the second album by this band from Illinois. We hear thirteen songs with a total length of a full hour. The big picture remains the same though. Loads of riffs, loads of hair, high quality music with enough melody not to make it sound thrashy. The influences are still the same. So we’re dealing with an exciting metal album here. I like the artwork the band used on the cover. The front cover is divided into two parts, whereas the left part represents ‘hell’ or ‘the bad things in life’, and the right part represents ‘heaven’ or ‘the good things in life’. Songs like “Treading Water” are not really my cup of tea. I prefer a bit more power, but you can hear that we’re dealing with some high quality musicians here. “Clear Water” is more my thing. And I also count “Hate Breeds” to one of the better songs on this album. “Fear Feeds” is a short piece of about two minutes. “Blame” is another highlight for me, and this song also closes this second album. You can hear the progression of the band on this album.

This CD rocks. Old school metal is back!
author: Anthony Lawhorne
I was very impressed with the overall quality of Polarized. I just caught their show on Friday (3-24-00) and these guys are great. The music is tight and refreshing these days with all the rap/metal & thrash that's become popular. I think (hope) this CD takes these guys to the top, cuz that's where they belong. If you don't have this CD, get it. You won't be disappointed.
