Album Notes

Abstract Destiny is a re-release of songs from the early Seventh Omen recordings, "Abstractions" and "Date With Destiny". Nine songs and over 50 minutes of powerful music from the early days of Seventh Omen! It is finally being released now because of the overwhelming demand for these songs over the years. If you've been a fan from the beginning or even if you've never heard any of the older material, you must check out Abstract Destiny.

Cool Obscure Power Metal!
author: Fat Freddy
I never heard of Seventh Omen till I started hanging around CDBaby, but it appears they have several CDs out and have been around for quite some time. This disc features a compilation of tracks from two of their early 90s demo tapes, and I gotta say if these are only demos, then I have to hear what their "real" albums sound like cuz these songs are great. Very similar to the ground that Megadeth was treading on in the early 90s (circa the COUNTDOWN TO EXTINCTION/YOUTHANASIA era), Seventh Omen are all about the riffs! The vocals of Clay Yoksas took a little getting used to at first but eventually I was raisin' my devil horns to Seventh Omen and promising myself that I will be checking out their other CDs available on CDBaby as soon as I can!!

their older stuff is by far the best and most powerful
author: Toine van Poorten/Metal Forever, Forever Metal
This third (and last) CD contains the old stuff of SEVENTH OMEN. And like with many other bands in the US Metal scene, the older stuff is by far the best and most powerful stuff. Okay, there are some melodic parts as well of course, but the riffs are more unpolished and definitely rawer than the ones on “Majestic” and “Polarized”. The first five tracks on this nine track compilation are from the “Abstractions” demo, released in 1992. The last four tracks come from the “Date With Destiny” demo, released in 1990. What striked me the most is, that the band has never had any line up changes in their career. A remarkable fact indeed. Darrell Raap played second guitar in the song “Date With Destiny”, but he was soon replaced by Damon Bernklau, and from there on the line up of the band remained the same. These very last recordings are absolutely brilliant, and I am very glad that I’ve purchased these three CDs, which introduced me to this great melodic power metal band from Woodridge, Illinois.

Thrashy technical metal...and that is great!!
author: Shiney
I got this disc not sure what to expect. I like what I got. Shadings of early Megadeth-ian thrash/speed permeate this disc but it also combine those elements with some power metal shadings. High range vocals and some insanely technical playing. This cd is a great lsiten and will not disappoint fans of this genre of metal. Cool!!!!!!
