Just when you thought it was safe to jettison your anti-grav go-go boots...
The SG Sound whips up the new party smash Planet Twist!
This EP features the radio single Planet Twist plus remasters from THE PLEASURE CENTER (editor's top pick in space age pop) and the upcoming space travel a-go-go epic ESCAPADE VELOCITY. Think of it as an in-flight sample platter for those who still harbor the delusion that resistance to The SG Sound is all but futile, and a light snack for those already down with the now sound. It's the SG Sound's world, you just twist in it... cheeky baby yeah!
Heavily influenced by go-go, twist, surf, spy, lounge, TV underscore, and soul music of the mid-to-late 1960's, The SG Sound might be described by some as "retro," but to do so would ignore the many unexpected flavors that permeate this aperitif. Consider the typical backbone elements of the SG orchestra: Drums, Horns, Guitars, Mallets, Bass. These toys got moxie and when they drive they drive hard. Sometimes, they get downright zombified in a go-go trance. Like Jekyll and Hyde, they can be your playful, jazzy best friend one minute and turn cruel and unusual the next.
When properly harnessed, however, this volatility serves to make The SG Sound uniquely flexible. Whether you're taking a lighthearted dip in your Palm Springs grotto or plotting to knock over Fort Knox, the discerning audiophile knows that The SG Sound makes every activity and environment more vivid.
In your Hi-Fi collection, file under: Hooks, Poolside, Stereo Test, Atom Smash, Ejector Seat, Plastics.
Physicians’ Warning:
May induce the twist response.

Try the Now Sound of Absolute NOW!

This brief postcard into the world of Steve Greaves' SG Sound is a true earful for the lover of the 1960s classic crime thriller - the John Barry fan for example who might want to know where all the good stuff's gone.
Greaves updates the classic Barry sound to include some modern instrumentation and samples, but he still manages to add an orchestral, brass-based sound with a ballsy flair. God knows how he's able to finance all this, and I'm afraid to ask him. However, he DOES work in Hollywood! Gentle reader: Please mark that today was the day you first heard the phrase "Ballsy flair."
