notes
Although SGT formed in early 2000 with original members Chris Gabriel, Brian Zaharatos, and Paulie DeVincenzo, the guys like to think of themselves as a "new" band. This new band which, is thought to have started in early 2003 with the completion of its current line up by adding Mike Romeo on drums, has been having a blast playing clubs in New York City as well as across Long Island. Recent showcases at Manhattan's CBGB's and The Continental have gone great and attracted the attention of some industry A&R, lawyers and booking agents. Other venues the guys play at regularly include The Vanderbilt, The Downtown, Arlene's Grocery, and their home away from home, The Village Pub. Recent radio performances/interviews on WLIR and WRHU have caused a buzz and promoted sales of the band's first EP Life Leads In which is in stores across Long Island. With mostly self promotion and recent help from their new manager Pete Rosemblum of Bolt Entertainment, the guys have done a great job making a name for themselves in the New York area. If you were to ask their favorite memory of being in the band so far, there would be plenty of things to choose from. According to bassist Paulie DeVincenzo, "Our first WLIR showcase at the Vanderbilt was definitely my favorite. We met our manager that night and just played a great show with a bunch of awesome bands." Other great experiences include sharing the stage with Maroon5, Audiovent, Nine Days, and Ours, performing at KROCK DJ Will Pendarvis' birthday bash at CBGB's, and recording with producer Bill Klatt (Days of the New, Godzilla soundtrack). Many people agree that the future looks bright for the boys in SGT. "These guys are it." says a NYC booking agent, "I work with three hundred bands on a regular basis and these guys have everything; a great look, amazing songs and stage presence, and they're a great bunch of guys too, all at the age of 18."
