Shadow Mountain Band is:
Bobby Furgo- fiddle; Billy Rhea Bell- fiddle; Damian (Dooley) Lester- vocals/upright bass; Darlene Lester- vocals; Gar Robertson- vocals/mandolin/dobro; Johnny Ray Martin- vocals/autoharp; Steve (Easy) Lester- vocals/guitar/banjo.
The band began several years ago as a hillbilly music jam session in the garden behind Pappy and Harriet’s Place, an historic roadhouse in Pioneertown, CA. Crowds began to gather around to hear the mountain-style harmonies and old-time tunes. The management of Pappy and Harriet’s began coming out to listen and soon asked the jammers to come in and play inside for the restaurant crowd. Within a few months, they were joined by Banning, CA fiddler Billy Rhea Bell, and Pioneertown resident Johnny Ray Martin on the mountain-style autoharp (an instrument you seldom hear outside of Appalachia), and premier fiddler Bobby Furgo from Yucca Valley. The group was rounded out when Steve and Darlene’s son, Damian Lester, known around the farm as 'Dooley', joined the band on acoustic bass, and brilliant, soft-spoken Gar Robertson added his talents on mandolin, dobro, and vocals. Shadow Mountain also often features guests, including smokin' mandolinist Mark Ross from 29 Palms, and other friends and musical family members comin' through town.
Special Guest appearances by: Mark Ross- mandolin; Bob Garcia- vocals/guitar; John Bertini- mandolin/vocals; Joel Selzer- harmonica; TK Smith- reso guitar; Roger Wanderscheid- drums.

"I picked up your CD on a whim last Saturday night at Pappy and Harriot's. Then my 12 year old child and I danced all day Sunday to your music at home.
We LOVE you guys!
I hope you don't mind the rating I gave your CD on ITUNES. It only goes up to 5 stars and that was the most I could give." glen

This is first class mountain music with echoes of Earl Scruggs, Bill Monroe, Bob Wills, and Hank Williams. The instrumentals are finely crafted, but the heart and soul of this CD is in the story telling. Original tunes paint poignant pictures of real life in close harmony. It's a joy. Love it!
