Banjoist Pat Cloud was born in Los Angeles in 1950 and discovered the five-string banjo by chance at age thirteen. He is included in the 1988 Oak publication, Masters of the Five-String Banjo, in which Tony Trishka says:
"He is the first five-string player to achieve a wide-reaching command of the jazz vocabulary, and as such inhabit a rarefied world which he now shares with a select few. To hear him play is amazing, but to watch him elicit those streams of "boppish" notes from a predominantly bluegrass instrument is other-wordly."
Guitarist/banjoist Rick Dunham is a veteran studio musician and composer. Aside from performing in videos with the likes of Shania Twain and Roy Orbison he is also credited with playing the banjo in the opening credits of "South Park" a popular adult cartoon show on Comedy Central.
Violinist Candy Girard is well-known in the music world, having recorded with such greats as Jerry Garcia of the Grateful Dead, Mason Williams, Will Ray, Marty Rifkin and many others. She can be heard on the sound track for the television show Firefly, and has appeared on “Bay Watch” with Martina Mc Bride, and on video with Randy Travis and Rick James. She has also performed live on National television on the “Jimmy Kimmel Show”, ”The Home Show”, ”Who’s Line is it Anyway”, and on Jay Leno’s “Tonight Show” with Tanya Tucker and Clint Black.
