Album Notes

Mining the Blues is the debut cd from Timmins (home of Shania Twain) Blues rockers The Shaftmen. The album like ti's sophomore release Paycheque Blues gained national airplay in Canada and in parts of the USA. The cd was produced by legendary Canadian Bluesman Jack De Keyzer. it debuted the songwriting of John Emms who's songs and vocal work were described by critics as solid and melodic as Bog Seger's early work. Solid playing by Gilbert Boissonneault, Mike Charette and former member John Savard propelled the cd to a blistering rock//blues feel in the vein of Jeff Healey and Rory Gallagher
