Album Notes

Dreamsound Records recording artist 'Shakka' is one of Harlem N.Y's best kept secrets, a rapper who sounds eerily, unabashedly, and unashamedly like the late great Tupac (2Pac) Shakur. When asked about the reasons for the uncanny similarities in the writing, vocal , and delivery styles between the two of them, Shakka simply replies that "Pac was the teacher and I was the student. He was teaching and I was learning, I was listening and paying attention. It's as if he was saying (possibly to me personally) that "If you're going to rap, then this is how you do it, and if you sayin' sumpthin' then this is how you say it!" Shakka says "I'm sure that there are many people out there who feel as if I've infringed upon ' "Hallowed" ground' and maybe even rightfully so, but I would remind them of the old saying that just like 'gangsta' recongnizes gangsta'' so does 'Hallowed (Holy) recognize Hallowed (Holy) ". Shakka continues "I make music cause it's in me like a muthaf@#ka and because it's close to and comes from my heart! And if you listen to my music you can tell that that's true. Everybody's not going to like my music, and I'm O.K. with that, but for those who appreciate heart, thought, effort and something even remotely resembling talent, I am completely confident that those people will find 'something' of value in the music that I make." (NUFF SAID !)

I have partied with you at Cheetah, talk to you, my friend and big brother. Make sure you put something about my cd on CDBABY to. I love your flow and I can't wait till we really link up and do that show we were supposed to do (sorry. Greatness is in your future. God bless. If you people don't buy more of these cds you would have missed out on the best underground (for now) music out there. Not contrversial but real. Sounds like Pac - but Shakka is real. I got something for you to do on my new joint kid. Hit me up you know the numbers. Tim
