A CD REVIEW

Naima Shamborguer

Has the voice that is truly a gift from God. The soul of her vocals reflects her musical background and training as well as her love for jazz. Her musical styling has been compared with such legens as Sarah Vaughan, but I believe that Naima's range and versatility place her in a category of her own.

The strength of the melodies and emotions that Naima conveys in this her latest recording, combine with the arrangements and musical talents of Buddy Budson,Akua Dixon,Steve Turre and George Benson to provide her audience with a phenomenal experience. the range of tempos and the varying lyrical messages of the songs chosen on this recording showcase the breadth of Naima's talent. All of Naima's heart can be felt in her rendition of "Send In The Clowns", my personal favorite.

sit back and enjoy one of the great voices of the music industry, as Naima conveys the love in her heart to yours.

Timeless and Truly from the Heart
author: Ed Hannum
Naima Shamborguer has done it again!! A timeless collection of songs from the American Songbook. A bit of a departure from her last work "A Blossom Sings". You can tell these songs mean a lot to Naima. She treats every song with heartfelt warmth and sensitivity. She even has an original composition titled "Fuscia Blue" which blows me away. As always Naima gathers the best of the Detroit and New York jazz musicians to work with her. If you love the standards done in a fine crafted style by Naima, by all means buy this CD. Love ya, Naima!!
