If you miss the late 80s/early 90s, when hip hop was HIP HOP, then you need this CD in your life!!!
-PJ Butta (KHHT, Hot 92 Jams)
It all begins with a thought...
This album was conceived three years before it saw a release. Frustrated with the state of hip hop for a while, Shammy Dee saw to it that he would create an album with the same feeling that he would get when he would listen to the music that inspired him. Pulling from all kinds of influences, J-Dilla, Black Star, Gangstarr, Reflection Eternal, Common, The Roots, Hi-Tek, A Tribe Called Quest, Miles Davis, Ahmad Jamal, (the list goes on...) all these thoughts would coalese into this CD. These influences run ripe throughout each track.
Transcripted Thoughts is also the true definition of an independent album. Self-funded, produced, written, mixed, pressed, this project is a true reflection of what can happen when there is a passionate vision.
Listen and believe...
