Cool School can best be described as a fun, twisted, extra-ordinary "day in the life" of a kid at school! Journey through the crazy, humorous and heartwarming moments of Tommy O. from the time he wakes up to his bike ride home. We hear from schoolmates, teachers, the principal, the playground bully and, of course, from Tommy O. himself. All songs were written by Steve Hampton and performed by a band of LA's finest studio musicians and singers! Styles range from punk-pop to harmony-filled ballads to gutsy blues to nu R&B. Arrangements and production are edgy and creative.
Cool School features 11 different singers including recording artists Carl Anderson, Thelma Houston, and Ali James. The band is made up of a bunch of rambunctious LA session players who are the best at what they do! Besides a crankin' rhythm section additional spices include trombone, clarinet, tenor and bari sax, accordian and 2-string bass.
Steve Hampton lives in LA and works as a composer scoring original music for television, radio and film. Undoubtedly, you've heard his work on shows like "Just Shoot Me"(NBC), "My Big Fat Greek Life"(CBS), "Greg the Bunny"(Fox), "One World"(NBC) or one of the gazillion TV commercials he's scored. Having three kids pushed him over the edge and before he knew it all those great(!) school memories came back and the result is Cool School!
