Album Notes

Shanna Anjali is a young soulful singer in the tradition of Roberta Flack. Listen and you will hear her own natural, straightforward style without the vocal acrobatics. Shanna was attracted to working on "I'll Love You Always" because it is a song that everyone can relate to. "To me, loss is a part of everyone's life, and this project reminds me of memories. It's great to remember; it's healing. This song will move many people, affect them."

The single "I'll Love You Always" was written and arranged by Rich Hinrichsen, Seattle bass player and songwriter. It is a song of love, loss, and hope written as a tribute to his brother Steve.

A lovely validation of the grief experience
author: Portia
When we're grieving, it seems that all our energy goes to the struggle of psychologically surviving, and the pressure to resume everyday life. In the end, something is left undone, and too often we never find a way to adequately share with the world these most tranformative experiences of our lives. Rich's music, his lyrics, and Shanna's voice do this for us--express the unexpressed--it all resonates deeply in the heart. A beautiful piece. Thank you.

Depth and heart! Love shines through grief!
author: Jean
Shanna Anjali’s beautiful voice is a perfect vehicle for the clear message of love and hope shining through grief and pain. The instrumentation adds a timeless, sacred quality and feels life-affirming. The piece steadfastly validates for people that even though their loved one’s time on earth has come to an end, the love never does.

Amazing/Touched my Soul
author: Carole
This is, very simply, beautifully written and performed. I can relate to the "empty space" created by losing a sibling, and I too, find comfort in the "new life" they've found. I especially like the piano/vocal version, as it captures the soulfulness of the lyrics. Fantastic Job!

Thanks for creating this piece!
author: Joel
What's not to like? The background story, like the lyrics, is heartrending AND uplifting. The vocal delivery is smooth, powerful, assurred... warm and full, like the emotional content. And the composition and performance have a depth and intricacy that belies their melodic flow. Let's hope this is the first of many more musical offerings from this group.
