"Wow"
author: Rob Berger
I wonder if it is possible to wear out a CD from playing it so much! I will be putting "Ready To Wake Up" to the test. Shannon is completely amazing and awesome with the most beautiful voice and mesmerizing songs. If I looked up extraordinary in the dictionary I would find a pic of her right there.
If there is one CD to add to your collection or give as a gift, this one is a must.....eleven spectacular tracks, each one memorable and delightful.
Shannon is a gifted artist with a rare ability to touch your head, heart and soul. Every song is captivating and enchanting. 5 stars is an understatement - this CD has 11 stars!
Thanks for being my friend and such a "wow" :)

great CD

Ready to Wake Up is a great CD especially if you like melodic piano driven songs. I'm a big fan of girls who play piano and sing like Norah Jones, Vanessa Carlton, and Keri Noble so if you enjoy their music you'll probably like this CD! I especially like Shame, Breaking Down, and Where I Stand.

Ready to Wake Up

Shannon's new CD is a wonderfully warm upbeat CD, full of bright, catchy tunes, containing multiple windows into the soul of this very talented young artist. I've been unable to put this CD down. No overblown production, this CD has a purity that draws you in and inspires.
The 1st track, "Matter of Time," powerfully launches her vocal and instrumental talents, while speaking to the desire for love and attracting "the One." "Shame" lays her heart open for all to see and sympathize with, while "Breaking Down" (two different versions) covers the uncertainty of love and vunerability. "Overboard" is a light, fun tune that brings to mind the songs and vocals of Karen Carpenter, whereas "We Are In Love" invokes the airy bossa nova feeling of Astrid Gilberto and Brazil 66 from the same era. "Where I Stand" is her most powerful song, speaking up for the empowerment found in great relationships. "Garden Path," about the joys of love, has the most "modern" sound, with some nice synthesizers providing the backdrop for the sweetness of her vocals. "Silence" and "Try Again Today" are Shannon's powerful paeons to what might have been, highlighting her strongest vocals on the CD.
With songs ranging from sheer joy to heartache, but always full of hope, Shannon hits the chords that melt your heart. And I'll echo Francisco's comment about hearing her live. Sheer unadulterated pleasure!

Obsessed

I bought Shannon's "Ready to Wake Up" CD, and I obsessed over playing it while riding the metro. Her voice is soft and sweet, her music restorative and gentle. It is a great pleasure to listen to her music live, here in Los Angeles. As for the rest of you all, Shannon will be playing San Diego, and she was in the East Coast recently. Check her out, if you have an opportunity.
Cheers to all.
