"Sharie walks into a room with her guitar and her own dimension. Those present sense that something special is happening. As she begins, her eyes are closed, her head slightly bowed.Slowly she looks up at her audience, and they are engulfed in her world. Sharie Sofair sings, and familiar words of prayer suddenly grow larger, breaking barriers, reaching higher, farther and deeper than many of those who recite them daily could ever imagine. She is at once a product of a classical yeshiva education and a serious student of the mystical aspects of prayer. As she sings, deep in kavanah, those listening experience an awesome dichotomy; aloft in spirituality, she is unapproachable and yet, so, close. Who is Sharie Sofair? "Words," said a Chasidic Master, can only go so far,"to really understand, you must hear the music."
Sharie Sofair holds a degree from NYU in Music Therapy. She's a certified Music Therapist and a licensed Special Education teacher. Sharie lived in Jerusalem, Israel for four years working as a Music Therapist, teaching Jewish, Torah studies and studying. Presently, Sharie is composing and singing her own songs and those of R'Shlomo Carlebach's. R' Shlomo used to call her his "right hand man".

Sharie now resides in New York with her husband and children. Sharie sings and plays piano and guitar on "Leebee- My Heart." It's available on CD at Judaica shops and cdbaby.com/sharie."-The Jewish Reporter
"Leebee- My Heart" is the title of a new CD featuring original music by Sharie Yasgur Sofair. The collection of songs, some softly haunting in nature, others strong and lovely, as well as a couple of spirited toe-tappers, all share several dominant characteristics: Simple melodies with an occasional unexpected twist that touch your heart even before reaching your ear. There's something almost familiar about them, yet quite different. You find yourself singing along, keeping rhythm and even harmonizing without quite knowing the melody. There is no need to explain that Sharie was deeply influenced, both musically and spiritually, by Rabbi Shlomo Carlebach. It is apparent from her compositions, all of which carry on his tradition of soul-stirring melodies; inspired and inspiring. This lovely CD "Leebee-My Heart" is sure to touch your heart."- The Jewish Press
"I wanted to share with you a listening recommendation. On the commute to work this morning, I was listening to the music of Sharie Sofair. The CD/cassette is entitled "Sharie:My Heart".I find her music both inspiring from a spiritual point of view and interesting musically. This is a lovely example of good religious music that is a real pleasure to listen to and speaks to the part of me that needs reminding that G-d is ever-present in my day. Sharie has some beautiful interpretations of Carlebach niggunim that particularly appeal to me." - S.Speigler
