Random Acts, the new CD by Kansas City composer, guitarist, and visual artist Jack Sharman, is a collection of pieces written for dancers, short films, and, in some cases, no particular reason at all. Drawing on a variety of musical influences, from film music to flamenco, Sharman has created a dynamic sonic environment that is at once openly electronic, and shamelessly orchestral in sentiment. Synthesized and sampled sounds combine with live instruments and the beautiful voice of soprano Jennifer Lee Robinson to deliver an exciting musical journey, full of unexpected twists and turns.

Random Acts
author: Colin
I bought this CD a while ago; and all i can say is that this is one cool CD. I even had some of the tracks spun at a local DC dance club that a friend of mine owns and they still get requests for some of the songs on Random Acts. Sharman writes music that not only sends your mind on a tremendous journey, but packs your bags for you and drives you to the airport! Seriously, if you want a CD that is cool enough to keep you listening to it over and over again, more "existential" than any "alternative" sound and transcends the boundaries of any boy-band, bubblegum pop starlet or anything of that nature, then this is the CD for you!
